Average performance, great result!

An average performance but a great result is the best way to sum up tonight’s match. That’s 4 wins now in a row and momentum is building nicely. Our second half performance was impressive considering we underperformed for the first 40. Axel gave us a dressing down at half time and tony refocused us which was very important because at that stage we needed a lift.

Johnny murphy scored 2 tries and continues to impress me with his all round game.I thought the impact of the players off the bench was crucial and lifted everybody. Nowadays it’s a 23 man game and a strong bench is essential.

I’m looking forward to playing in the new lansdowne road. The old ground holds so many special memories for me and my teammates and it’s time now to create a few in the new home of Irish rugby. Whether that happens next weekend is open to debate and no doubt it will be an intense struggle for both sides.
